Fire breathing

SciTech Fun draws huge crowds

For the fourth year in a row the crowds flocked in their hundreds to Chapel-en-le-Frith High School’s annual SciTech Family Fun Day. More than 1000 guests from across the country enjoyed a wealth of fun educational activities which ranged from falconry displays, fire breathing, exploding custard and family cooking to robotics, laser cutting and exotic animal handling. Swine Flu

As you will be aware from the letter sent out to you in July, we have had a small number of swine flu cases reported to us.

The current Health Protection advice to schools is that there would be no benefit in closing the school, given the spread in the wider community.

We would, however, be appreciative if you could talk to your child about the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene.

There is some excellent advice on the Health Protection Agency’s website www.hpa.org.uk and I enclose an extract below.

The most important measures are to keep symptomatic children out of school (preferably isolated at home), and to maintain good hygiene practices:
